How to Make Your New Wigs Look More Natural

Step 1. Place the wig on a mannequin head (or wear it on your head) and adjust it to sit evenly and securely.

Step 2: Use a curved ribbed comb to gently, comb the wig from bottom to top in small sections. This minimizes tangles and prepares the hair for styling.

Step 3: Grab a tail comb for precise teasing.

Step 4: Press down the top front of the wig.Use the pointed tail of the comb to scrape the hair roots back and forth along the hairline direction.Repeat until the roots lift slightly, creating subtle volume.

Step 5: Comb the hair backward in a Z-shaped motion along the hairline to break up the original part.

Step 6: Use your fingers to lift and gently tease the hair at the roots, fluffing it up.

The top of the head looks more natural, let's turn our attention to the bangs for further styling.

Step 7: Lift the bangs upward and scrape the roots in a zigzag motion.Repeat until the bangs look less stiff and more naturally blended with your hairline.

By now, the whole wig significantly more natural. If you want to take its natural look a step further, you can grab a hairdryer and a spiked comb.

Step 8: Press the wig against your forehead to secure it. Use the curved comb to comb the top hair backward in a Z-shape several times.

Step 9: With one hand, use the curved comb to comb the hair backward, gently pushing it forward at the ends of each stroke. Meanwhile, use a hairdryer on the hot setting (held a few inches away) to heat the hair as you comb. This helps set the volume.

Step 10: While still holding the comb in place, use your other hand to insert fingers into the hair and lift the roots. Repeat this motion to enhance lift and texture.

Step 11: Switch the hairdryer to the cool setting and run it over the styled areas to lock the volume and shape in place.

Step 12: Remove the comb—the wig should now look voluminous and natural. Lightly comb through the hair to smooth any tangles. Use your hands to shape the hair around the cheeks for a soft, framed look.

Final Tip: For extra hold, spritz a light mist of synthetic wig hairspray (avoid regular hairspray, as it can stiffen synthetic fibers).
